Vision Board

Last Thursday the members of NOVASEN came together to map out our version of a vision board for the organization, ourselves, and Northern Virginia.

We started by Welcoming and Grounding where we talked about our goals in this vision session both for ourselves and the Organization.

Then moved on to the values warm up were we wrote down two of the most important values that a community organization like ours should embody, then we put them in categories. Here's what those categories looked like:

Trust
Commitment, Dependability, and Transparency

Commitment, Trust (or trustworthiness), and Unity

Afterwards, With the context in which we were operating, we started talking about 2026 and 2027. What could that look like? what does that look like? who is there? what are we doing? do we abide by our values? etc..

We started asking broader questions. What accomplishments are we celebrating in 2027? or How has the community changed because of our work?

We had lots of ideas! we took those then clustered them into themes, we saw the overlap of ideas and how they live in our communities.

Lastly we ended on notes of following up on our vision, we want the people of northern Virginia or anyone who is committed or wants to learn about the solidarity economy to join in forming part of our vision!
