We began our discussion in-person on 3/27/26 and are using this to extend our discussion.
Decisions we need input on and ideally reasoning for or against a position are below:
(1) Criteria to be a new member.
(2) Criteria to determine voting vs. non-voting members.
(3) Onboarding process for new members (interview? new member presentations?)
Contradictions/Tradeoffs discussed in-person included:
Related to (1) Balancing a welcoming atmosphere and desire to grow with member safety
Related to (2) Our decision-making thus far has been very informal - do we keep it that way for now or do we start having voting portions of meetings or use Decidim as a means of collecting votes in-between meetings.
Related to (3) Formal interview seems like a-lot, however, first-meeting introduction could be a decision point for whether we're comfortable with someone. Strive to be welcoming and non-judgemental as possible.
